The Saugerties Farmers Market brings you not only the best fresh foods that the Hudson Valley has to offer, but also chef demonstrations, free tastings, recipes, live music and more. This schedule will be updated frequently, so check back soon.
Kids Can Cook are free children's cooking classes at the Saugerties Farmers Market offered by Debbie Osborne of Arcadia Homewares. Kids ages 8-11 learn where food comes from and how to cook it, make a recipe together using farm fresh ingredients, and eat what they prepare at the end of the session. Art Lab at the Market, a place for children to explore art and agriculture, every Saturday from 10am-1pm at the Saugerties Farmers Market. Art Lab at the Market aims to support families visiting the market, provide children with art and agriculture fun, and build community connections. Activities include seed planting, print making, painting, playdoh, clay, collage, book making, wood sculpture, and a farm fresh snack. Please contact us if you have crafts or artwork for sale that is connected to agriculture or traditional crafts or arts so that we may schedule you a tent and table for an extremely modest fee between September 8-October 27.

Remember to bring soil samples from your garden. Bring your soil sample taken from a depth of about 6" from several places in the bed. Soil should be dry or moist, not wet.

Bring your soil sample taken from a depth of about 6" from several places in the bed. Soil should be dry or moist, not wet. It is high summer so almost too much is going on in the garden; don't let the experts get away without answering your innermost gardening questions.

- HARVEST HOME DINNERS - BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
The Saugerties Farmers Market sponsors taste of the market dinners prepared by outstanding local chefs and home cooks. This is a fundraiser in private homes with a ticket price of $50/person to support the market, help local agriculture stay in business, and enjoy a sumptuous meal prepared from the best our local farms have to offer. There was so much good wining and dining last year that most everyone wants to return and some even offered to host. We expanded our schedule to the whole month of September for your convenience. CALLING ALL HOME GARDENERS: TEST YOUR TOMATOES AGAINST THOSE GROWN BY THE PROFESSIONALS! Ms. Hot Tomato threatens a return engagement and our judges will use all of their tasting skills to award the prizes. Come to the Saugerties Farmers Market at 11am to show off your stuff. Bring your favorite tomatoes for the judges to sample. The winners will be announced at noon so that awards and praise can be bestowed immediately.

We supply the burner, tent, paper goods, and a chef's toque. You supply the food and the skill cooking up market food and vying your specialty against the next man's. Limit of 6 participants. Sign up in advance by sending us an email with your name, address, and phone. People's Choice vote by customers in the market determines the winner. Prize: $100 coupon to spend at the Saugerties Farmers Market.
